Due to the insufficient number of teacher training institutions, technology has been the subject with the largest number of unqualified technology teachers and teachers with similar subjects’ certificate in the school field. In such a problematic situation, universities that train technology teachers are of interest to many high school students. The participants of this study were 80 people from 4 institutions that foster technology teachers in South Korea. Motivation to become technology teachers, experiences as pre-service technology teachers, and thoughts about technology teachers were investigated using the questionnaire. The results are as follow. Most of the Korean pre-service technology teachers make the decision to become technology teachers after their third year of high school. It was found that the supporters who had the greatest influence on the decision to become a technology teacher were parents or teachers in secondary school.
