Abstract

The purposes of this study are to develop the teaching tools to learn the integrated problem solving through the programming learning about the measurement and control technology, and to propose the learning process using the developed teaching tools in the information technology in the technology education course in junior high schools in Japan. The developed teaching tools are 10 models of the programmed automatic control system. They are the models of familiar and practical measurement and control systems, for example, automatic doors and cleaning robots. They are developed using LEGO Education SPIKE sets. To verify the educational effect of the teaching tools, the class practice was carried out using them for the 9th grade students in a junior high school. As a result of the learning activities through the design of activity diagrams and the production of programs, it became possible to make students to consider the procedures to properly recognize and solve the integrated problems.
