Abstract

In recent years, the percentage of children and students requiring special education in Japanese elementary and junior high schools has increased from 2.3% to 5.0%, and the need for research on special-needs education has also increased.

In addition, computer science education will be offered in elementary and junior high schools and special needs schools based on the new Courses of Study that started in 2020.

However, computer science education has rarely been implemented in special-needs schools due to lack of equipment and examples, as the practice of general elementary, junior high, and high school education has just begun.

Therefore, in this research, we conducted a lesson using the computer science education robot "PETS" used in the previous stage of visual programming, making use of the knowledge of computer science education in elementary school that the authors conducted in the previous research. "PETS" is a robot that moves PETS" is a robot that moves by inserting blocks, and the commands of the inserted blocks are immediately reflected in its movements.

At special needs school, we gave lessons to create a program that includes sequential processing and iterative processing with the aim of improving problem-solving ability and logical thinking ability.
